Believe, Connect, and Forgive Yourself

As I have been growing over the years, I have learned even more about God’s saving grace and the truth in God’s word, the Logos. It is wonderful to see the truth in the statement, the more you know, the more you want to know. The Logos feeds me, calms me, and frees me from all worry. With the help of the Holy Spirit, I can create new meanings to my past which frees me from my burdens of my earlier stupid mistakes. Yes, you can change the past. We are driven by the meanings we place on things; this is how we set priorities and make decisions. As a Christian and understanding God’s grace and forgiveness, you can give your past new meanings. So, I forgive myself of my stupid ways though I still can have regrets over my lost time in the abyss of foolish actions, I carry no guilt. Those that love me will also forgive me. I can and will repent; this is part of my branch connection to the “Jesus Trunk”. Many will not make this connection because they will not forgive themselves. They may even acknowledge that God forgives them, but they can’t forgive themselves; what arrogance is this? Are you bigger than God? Are you more important than God? Get off your “high horse” and join God in granting yourself the forgiveness that takes burdens away. Jesus says:

“Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” (Matthew 11:29-30 ESV)

I look forward and see a wonderful “finish line” beyond neither any grand definition nor any explosive imagination. I don’t understand everything; God is bigger than any human understanding. But I don’t need to understand or comprehend, I only need to believe in Jesus Christ as a child will wholly and freely believe (Matt. 19:14).

There are Sharks in the Water

If you are not aware of Rev. Alistair Begg, I would suggest you check him out at This morning in his daily devotional on Jeremiah 49:23, I would like to share the first paragraph with you:
“We are unaware of what sorrow may be upon the sea at this moment. We are safe in our quiet room, but far away out to sea the hurricane may be cruelly seeking the lives of men. Imagine the bitter winds howling through the rigging, the timbers heaving as the waves beat like battering rams upon the boat! God help you, poor drenched and wearied ones! I am praying to the great Lord of sea and land, that He will make the storm calm and bring you to your desired haven! I ought not simply to pray; I should try to help those brave men who risk their lives so constantly. Have I ever done anything for them? What can I do? How often does the boisterous sea swallow up the sailor!”

Today in America, Christians are now being persecuted at nearly every turn. Such a natural response as “bless you” to a sneeze can get you expelled from school. If it isn’t the hate-filled atheists fighting so hard against us (something I have never understood…if there is no God, then just let we Christians be wrong), if not the atheists then it is the New Age groups, the Gospel of Health & Wealth groups, or the Emergent Church or some other such apostate group. A storm is brewing my friends; a chaotic sea, tossing your boat about, which has the power to throw you into the abyss. What will calm your personal storm? What is the lighthouse to show you the rocky cliffs awaiting to tear apart your boat?

Read Matthew 14:22-33. As Peter stepped out on the water to go to Jesus, what allowed him to place that first foot down? Why would he even try to walk on water? Any fisherman knows you can’t walk on water, so what made Peter put his leg over the side of the boat and lower that first foot down? Answer, an over-whelming faith in his Lord Jesus Christ that transcended any worldly consideration of present reality. What made Peter start to sink? Answer, when he loss his focus on Jesus Christ and began to doubt. Where are you today?

Make Jesus your lighthouse! Allow the Word of God, the Logos, to provide navigation through the rough seas of life! Stay Biblically orientated, for God’s Word will light your pathway. There are many sharks in the water trying to get to you; I implore you to get close to the saving LORD, “Captain Jesus”…the only One who loves you so very much, He redeemed you from your sins and now desires to steer you to the safe waters of Paradise!

Yes, Mr. Todd, the Bible is the Word of God!

How appropriate for the day to be April Fools Day 2011. For the foolish TV show, “Hardball”, normally with Chris Matthews as host on MSNBC, that we would have Chuck Todd filling in as host. Mr. Todd’s foolish guest, Bobby Ghosh in commenting on the foolish actions of Rev. Terry Jones over a Qu’ran burning which has unfortunatly resulted in over 20 senseless deaths and 80 injuries, claimed that burning the Qu’ran was worse than burning the Bible. Ghosh’s foolish argument, agreed to by Todd, was that the Bible was written by man and the Qu’ran was written by God. Ghosh said that this “fact” was acknowledged by Christains. WRONG!

No, Mr. Ghosh and Mr. Todd, I am a Christian; I say and believe beyond a shadow of doubt that the Bible is in fact the Logos! The VERY sacred word of God! It is not just “the story of Jesus” as you are quoted as saying; it is about the eternal salvation of anyone that will turn to God and accept Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. Just because the “real Christians” (not Christians in name only) are peaceful and don’t kill others over the burning of the Bible, does NOT make it any less painful than the Muslims being upset over the regrettable burning of “their book”.
