As a tree searches for light to empower its machine, so too must we also be searchers of light. Searching for the light of truth; if you would open your eyes, heart and mind to receive God’s truth, you would see real light and receive real living water.
Light is intended for seeing and guidance; we all need it. A Christian is to search, absorb its warmth and truth, and then spread it to others. Our world wants to stop Christians from talking, but we can’t stop. We are to respond in love and gentleness with the mercy and grace we have received. The world is hurting and we Christians, who know of the love of Jesus, need to share that love because we care for others, even those who hate us. We Christians are commissioned to spread the Good News of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, for Christ is the light to the world. His Light becomes our Light, so we find Jesus saying:
“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.” (Matthew 5:14-16 ESV)
